Eclipse Bang Out 6-3 Win Versus Mercer Island
|
The Northville Eclipse overcame a good performance by Mercer Island right fielder Harry Freidricks to knock off Mercer Island, 6-3, at Old-Timers Park. Freidricks slugged 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. Nobuhito Tanaka was the winning pitcher. Over 7.1 innings, he allowed 3 runs on 7 hits, with 2 walks and 7 strikeouts. Sonny Rubalcaba closed the game out for Northville, earning his 4th save.
Octávio Ontiveros was a key contributor to the win for the Eclipse. In the bottom of the fifth with one out, the light-hitting third baseman stroked a double to right. He went 2 for 4 with a double. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.
"It feels good to get that win," said Ontiveros. "Now it's on to the next one."
The Eclipse bumped their record to 22-15 with this latest triumph.
