Benefiting from Michael Bradshaw's productive game, the Richland Rails downed the Myrtle Beach Mermen, 6-5. Bradshaw went 3 for 3 with 3 singles and 2 walks for the Rails. Richland reliever Matko Perisc got the win, raising his record to 2-1. Kelemeneke Balun was tagged with the loss. Ron Armstrong got credit for the save for Richland. It was his 1st of the year.
The most important at-bat for Richland came in the top of the tenth inning, when third baseman Leon Carlisle stroked a 1-0 cutter to right for a run-scoring single, putting Richland up, 6-5.
"Winning the game is always the first objective," Carlisle said.
Richland is now 13-17.
