Héctor Tista never let the Rails get in a groove. The right-hander used his bread and butter, his forkball, to pitch the Screaming Eagles to a 3-1 win. Reid Garrett earned the save for Mercer Island, his 2nd of the year. The defending champion Screaming Eagles have struggled a bit to find their groove this season, but improve to 10-10 with the win.

Giobbe Bastedo, who is tied for 3rd in the PAA in hits with 25, aided the Mercer Island cause with a run-scoring single in the top of the third. For the game, the center fielder went 2-4 with 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs.

"We'll grab a cold one tonight and go after another win tomorrow," Tista said.
