Fur Traders Fall Short at Lannister United
|
The Tacoma Fur Traders got a sterling performance from pitcher Domingo Montémayor, but the Lionhearts still prevailed, 4-3. Montémayor was named the player of the game in a losing cause. He threw 8 innings of 4-hit ball. The winner was Jeff Krause in relief. His record improves to 2-0. Luis Ruíz took the loss. The win lifts Lannister United to a record of 8-11.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the tenth inning, when Lannister United pinch hitter Chong-yee Au-Yong, facing Luis Ruíz, had a run-scoring single. It gave the Lionhearts the 4-3 win.
"There's no quit in this team," said Lionhearts manager Ernesto Reyes.
