Despite a fine performance by first baseman Baldomero Avino, the Panama City Piranhas suffered a 5-3 loss to the Brooklyn Dodgers. Avino was 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 runs. Brooklyn reliever Víctor García was the winner. His record is now 6-0. The losing pitcher was Robinson Suárez. The Dodgers raised their record to 52-41.
Oliver Aranda helped out the Brooklyn cause in the top of the sixth inning with a run-scoring single. For the game, the center fielder went 1-4.
"We'll enjoy this win," said Aranda. "But there's more we hope to accomplish."
