Late Rally by Mermen Secures Win
|
The Myrtle Beach Mermen got a good effort from starter Neil Gilliam in defeating the Minnesota Loons at Loony Bin. The final score was 3-1. The win gives Myrtle Beach a record of 2-1.
The most important at-bat for Myrtle Beach came in the top of the ninth inning, when catcher Gomez Talone stroked a 0-1 fastball to left for a 2-run home run, putting Myrtle Beach up, 3-1.
"We'll relax tonight and enjoy this win," said Talone.
