Hotspur Reserves Win 7-6 Walk-Off
|
Bill Tan had a good game, but he could not keep the Milton Dogfish Head from falling, 7-6, to the Phoenix Hotspur Reserves at Thunderbirds Stadium. The Milton center fielder was 3 for 4 with 2 doubles, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3 in the loss. Phoenix reliever Roger Taylor picked up the win, upping his record to 3-0. Anderson O'Mara shouldered the loss. The 7th-place Dogfish Head have lost 4 straight games.
The game was decided with one out in the bottom of the ninth. With Phoenix trailing 6-5, Francisco Arriagada hit a sinker from Anderson O'Mara to center for a 2-run single. Just like that, the Hotspur Reserves had a walk-off win.
"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Arriagada. "And not try to do too much."
