Targaryens Lose to ParksNRec in Walk Off
|
The ParksNRec had to overcome a good performance from Royse City pitcher Gustavo Tobías to claim a 5-4 win at Whips Ballpark. Tobías went 8 innings and allowed 2 earned runs. Pawnee reliever Ángel Ruíz was credited with the win, to go to 1-1. Bo Tubbs took the loss for Royse City. The ParksNRec improved to 36-63.
It could have been a different outcome for Pawnee, had it not been for Mike Lipide, the 23-year old center fielder . Lipide contributed a run-scoring walk in the bottom of the ninth inning to put Pawnee up, 5-4.
"Wish we'd had more wins to celebrate like this one," said Lipide.
