|
Plymouth Rocks starter Rafael Méndez turned in a top-notch performance against the Naperville Battlekings at Plymouth Quarry. The result was a win for the Rocks, 3-1. In 8 innings, Méndez surrendered 5 hits, while striking out 6 and walking 3. He allowed 1 run. Plymouth now has a 3-game win streak.
José Castillo, who is tied for 7th in the PAAA in RBI with 50, helped out the Plymouth cause in the bottom of the seventh inning with a run-scoring walk. For the game, the center fielder was 2 for 3 with 2 singles and a walk.
"We were the better team today. Maybe that won't be the case next game, but we'll enjoy it for now," Méndez told the Plymouth Bulletin.
