Tritons Reel Off Another Win
|
Phoenix pitcher Ricardo Sánchez gave the Tritons all they could handle, but in the end, Jersey City left Thunderbirds Stadium with a 3-2 win. Sánchez allowed 2 earned runs on 7 hits over 7 innings. Francisco Sandoval got the win, improving to 6-7. He held the Hotspur Reserves to 2 earned runs on 4 hits over 5.1 innings, while striking out 1 and walking 4. Howard Vidaurri was credited with the save for Jersey City, his 4th of the season.
Dave Atkins, who was drafted in the three round of the 2028 draft, helped out the Jersey City cause in the top of the first inning with a 2-run double. For the game, the second baseman went 1 for 4 with a double. He drove in 2 runs.
"I like the roll we're on," said Jersey City manager Pierre Muller.
Jersey City has now won 9 games in a row.
