Behind a solid performance from third baseman Edgar Baeza, the Jersey City Tritons defeated the Milton Dogfish Head, 7-6. Baeza was 3 for 4 with 3 singles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for the Tritons. Pedro Silva picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 1-2. José Luján was tagged with the loss. Howard Vidaurri, credited with the save, is now 3 for 3 in save opportunities.
Had Seth Rollins not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 3rd, Rollins hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 7-6, in favor of the Tritons.
"It wasn't our best performance," said Rollins, "but a win in this league is nothing to sniff at."
