Tight Tilt Goes to Buzz, 2-1

The Salt Lake City Buzz went home winners at Jerome Grounds, thanks in large part to starter Víctor García. García silenced the Bakersfield Nobles, enabling Salt Lake City to grab the 2-1 win. García got the win, improving to 1-2. He allowed 4 hits and walked 2 over 7.1 innings. García allowed 1 earned run. Salt Lake City is now 20-11, Bakersfield 23-8.
Salt Lake City second baseman Roberto Soto helped the Buzz go up, 2-1, in the top of the fifth inning. With the game tied, Soto hit a solo home run off Bakersfield pitcher Armando Garay.
"It was a tough night at the plate," said Bakersfield manager James Wheeler.
