Behind a solid performance from third baseman Zahid Kashani, the Jersey City Tritons defeated the Milton Dogfish Head, 4-2. Kashani went 2 for 3 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2 for the Tritons. The winner was Chris Sommer, who threw 102 pitches over 5.2 innings. The left-hander was charged with 1 run on 4 hits. Anthony Ledesma finished to wrap up his 9th save.
Mike Greene aided the Jersey City cause with a 2-run single in the top of the sixth. For the game, the right fielder was 1-4, while adding 2 RBI.
Kashani told a Jersey City Daily reporter that he was "more than satisfied" with the win.
Jersey City, at 14-15, sits in 4th place in the Premier AAA.
