Rocks Solve Hotspur Reserves, 6-3
|
The Plymouth Rocks picked up a win at Plymouth Quarry, knocking off the Phoenix Hotspur Reserves, 6-3. Starting pitcher Zalontae Hillary, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason why. In 8 innings, Hillary surrendered 5 hits, while striking out 3 and walking 3. He allowed 3 runs. The Rocks now have a record of 10-11 with the win over Phoenix.
The Rocks got a big at-bat from catcher Raúl Rodríguez. For the game, Rodríguez went 2-4 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the fifth, with runners on 1st and 3rd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 2nd home run of the season gave Plymouth a 6-3 lead.
Rodríguez told a Plymouth Bulletin reporter that he was "more than satisfied" with the win.
