|
Jersey City turned a good effort from starter António Alomar into a win over the Milton Dogfish Head at Jersey City Grounds. The final score was 4-1. Alomar, the winner, moves to 3-0. He threw 5.2 innings of 3-hit ball, while fanning 8 and giving up 2 walks. The save went to Anthony Ledesma, his 4th this season.
Dave Atkins, who is rated as the 74th best prospect by BNN, helped out the Jersey City cause in the bottom of the third inning with a solo home run. For the game, the second baseman was 2-4 with a home run.
"Whenever we hold the other team to one run," said Tritons manager Pierre Muller, "I like our chances."
The Dogfish Head fall to 5-8 and continue to sputter in the early going.
