The Mancelona Torch got a superb performance from pitcher Kasim Amid. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Kennesaw. The Jets won the game, 4-2. In spite of the loss, Amid was named the player of the game. He came in in relief and pitched to 15 batters . Kennesaw is still hoping to get on a roll. The win is just their 2nd in 6 games.
Miguel Angel Montaño aided the Kennesaw cause with a run-scoring triple in the top of the fourth. For the game, the first baseman was 1-4 with a triple.
In comments to the Kennesaw Herald, Montaño admitted that he doesn't always push himself. "But the results," he said, "speak for themselves."
