Victory Pushes Thunder Hawks Record to 45-43
|
Ft. Polk South shortstop Erik Sterk made his presence felt in the 9-6 Thunder Hawks triumph over the San Bernardino Grasshoppers. Sterk went 3 for 4 with a home run, 2 singles, and was hit by a pitch, while scoring 3 times. Tommy Rowe earned the save for Ft. Polk South, his 3rd of the year. With the win, Ft. Polk South has a record of 45-43. San Bernardino falls to 41-47.
The Thunder Hawks took the lead in the top of the fourth when Howard Lee banged a two-out single. Ft. Polk South had been trailing 3-2, but Lee hit a 0-1 splitter from Dahab Kanda for a 2-run single.
"We swung the bats pretty good throughout the lineup," said Ft. Polk South skipper Howard Martínez.
