Nationals Lose, 5-2, at Field of the Rawhides
|
It was a fun time at Field of the Rawhides, where the Ottawa Nationals and Belvedere Park Rawhides tangled.
The exploits of catcher Eduardo Pampin, who leads the 3AA in bases on balls with 83, helped the Belvedere Park Rawhides defeat the Ottawa Nationals, 5-2. Pampin went 2 for 2 with a home run, a triple, and 2 walks, while scoring 2 runs. Belvedere Park reliever António Bruno was credited with the win, to go to 1-0. Héctor Aguilar took the loss for Ottawa. Sam Pelsize, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 14th save.
The Rawhides got a big at-bat from center fielder Dan O'Day. For the game, O'Day was 1 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the second, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 4th home run of the season gave Belvedere Park a 2-0 lead.
O'Day told a Belvedere Park Citizen reporter that he was "more than satisfied" with the win.
The Rawhides saw their win-loss record go to 42-37. At the same time, the Nationals fell to 30-49.
