Polar Bears Take Down Ghosts, 6-2
|
The Billings Polar Bears topped the Casper Ghosts by the score of 6-2, with the biggest share of the credit going to right fielder Mariano Sánchez. Sánchez was 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 times for the Polar Bears on the day. Billings reliever Alberto Ortíz picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Júlio Vázquez absorbed the loss. Billings is now 30-35.
With a runner on 2nd and one out in the bottom of the second inning, first baseman Steve Sconiers delivered big for the Polar Bears. Billings was leading 1-0 when he belted a 2-run home run.
"In baseball, you have your ups and downs," said Casper manager Mike Cunningham. "You just try to stay level-headed the whole time."
