The Atoms faced a stiff challenge from Glendale pitcher Kagetoki Matsubara, but persevered to claim a win at Atoms Field. The final score was 2-1. Matsubara went 8 innings and allowed 1 earned run. Osiris St. Brown was the winning pitcher. Over 7 innings, he allowed 1 run on 5 hits, with 4 walks and 6 strikeouts. Mau Delgado converted his 9th save in 11 tries.
The Atoms got a big at-bat from shortstop Lester Kwiatkowski. For the game, Kwiatkowski went 1-4 with a home run. In the bottom of the fourth, with the bases empty, he stroked a solo home run. His 2nd home run of the season gave Bethesda a 2-1 lead.
"I play this game for myself and my family, but of course it's always nice when we can win," said Kwiatkowski.
Bethesda bumps their record to 28-30 with the win.
