Grey Wolves Stumble, Lose to Thundercats
|
Getting a good performance from left fielder Joey Jones, the Richardson City Thundercats defeated the Vancouver Grey Wolves, 9-4. Jones went 2-4 with a home run, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3 for the Thundercats. Wayne Craig was the winning pitcher. Over 5.2 innings, he allowed 4 runs on 7 hits, with 1 walk and 4 strikeouts. Armando Gonzáles closed the game out for Richardson City, earning his 1st save.
Eduardo Álvarez delivered a big hit for the Thundercats. The veteran center fielder belted a 3-run home run in the bottom of the second. The longball put Richardson City on top, 5-0. Overall, Álvarez was 1-4 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once.
"Nice to see our side come away with the win," Jones said after the game.
Richardson City is now 29-46.
