Despite a great performance by Glendale right fielder Michael Sweeney, the Marquette Miners defeated the Herons by the score of 13-5 at Heron Field. Sweeney went 3-4 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk. He drove in 4 runs. The winner was Cisco Ortega in relief. His record improves to 1-1. Kagetoki Matsubara took the loss. Marquette is now 25-20, while Glendale is 29-16.

Marquette catcher Aurelio Ramos contributed to the cause with a double in the top of the fifth. For the game, Ramos went 1-1 with a double and a walk. He scored 2 times.
