The Bethesda Atoms got a strong performance from pitcher Luis Torrez, who stymied the Casper offense en route to a 3-1 win at Atoms Field. In 8 innings, Torrez surrendered 6 hits, while striking out 4 and walking 4. He allowed 1 run. Hakan Yilmanz closed the game out for Bethesda, earning his 1st save.

The Atoms got a big at-bat from catcher Andrés López. For the game, López was 1 for 3 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the fifth, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 4th home run of the season gave Bethesda a 2-1 lead.

"Some of the guys in here work pretty hard, some of the guys just kind of fall out of bed and get it done. Whatever works I guess, we won this one," López told the Bethesda News.
