Ghosts Fall to Deuces, 10-6
|
The Virginia Beach Deuces topped the Casper Ghosts, 10-6, with youngster Tevin McTevin playing a key role. McTevin went 3 for 4 with 3 singles and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 2 for the Deuces in the win. Virginia Beach reliever Victor de Meij picked up the win, upping his record to 2-0. Pedro Herrera absorbed the loss. It was the 12th win in 19 games this year for the defending champion Deuces, who are picking up where they left off.
A crucial at-bat came with a runner on 1st and no one out in the top of the sixth inning. That's when right fielder Iikka Karpinen hit a single. The Deuces went on to win.
"We take it day by day here," said Karpinen, "and today was a good one for us."
