Late Rally by Legion Secures Win
|
In a tight contest at Cloverdale Legion Park, the Kingston Township Legion edged the Greenville 84s by the score of 4-3. Kingston Township shortstop António González, who blasted 1 home run, was named the player of the game. Kingston Township currently is in 11th place in the Third League at 42-66.
Dani Trejo had a productive at-bat for the Legion with no one out in the bottom of the ninth. With a runner on 1st, the right fielder reached on an error by the SS. The at-bat was important in the Kingston Township win.
"I'm proud of the boys for pulling through," said Legion manager Rayzor Ray. "The wins don't come easy for this team, but everyone's got an extra jump in their step after a game like this."
