Late Rally by 1837 BBC Secures Win
|
The Houston 1837 BBC faced a tough opponent in Toledo pitcher Rob Silva, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Pacesetter Park by a final score of 1-0. Silva went 8.1 innings and allowed 1 earned run. Prince Nakamura got the save, his 7th in 9 chances. Houston currently is in 10th place in the Third League at 48-58.
Had Lytle Creek not delivered a key base hit in the top of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 2nd, Creek hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 1-0, in favor of the 1837 BBC.
"We put it together today and came out with the win," Creek said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."
