New Orleans Voodoo fans were pleased to see so many goose eggs up on the scoreboard as Juan Montoya blanked the Detroit Renaissance, 3-0 at Detroit Field today. Montoya stopped them on 1 hit while walking 1 and striking out 2.

"Once he gets in a groove, he can be dynamite," Voodoo skipper Chase Sims said. "He was on top of his game in this one."

So far this year Montoya has made 22 starts, tossed 162.2 innings, struck out 81 batters and walked 41. His record is 10-9 with a 2.88 ERA and he has limited opposing teams to a .254 batting average.
