Hamilton Sensational for Bowties
|
The Buckhead Bowties went home winners at Hawks Ballpark, thanks in large part to starter Dale Hamilton. Hamilton silenced the Chicago Hawks, enabling Buckhead to grab the 2-0 win. Yoshii Ikeda got credit for the save for Buckhead. It was his 7th of the year. Their 53-46 record puts the Bowties 5th in the Third League.
Hamilton, a native of Sunbury, Pennsylvania, was dealing all game. He kept Chicago hitters off-balance, while giving the Bowties 7.1 quality innings. Hamilton threw 111 pitches, allowing 2 hits and striking out 9.
"We made a couple of mistakes," said Chicago skipper Alan Starwood, "and it cost us."
