Flamingos Use Late-Game Magic to Beat Legion
Kingston Township pitcher Manny Castro gave the Flamingos all they could handle, but in the end, Las Vegas left Cloverdale Legion Park with a 8-5 win. Castro allowed 2 earned runs on 5 hits over 7.1 innings. John Brown converted his 23rd save in 27 tries. The Legion, now 38-58, have lost 4 in a row.

Had José Alonso not delivered a key base hit in the top of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases loaded, Alonso hit a grand slam. That made the score 7-5, in favor of the Flamingos.

"I still think this team has room for improvement," Alonso told the Las Vegas Chronicle.
