Eler Slugs Targaryens to 10-3 Win
|
Benefiting from an exceptional performance from Terrence Eler, the Royse City Targaryens defeated the Salt Lake City Buzz, 10-3. Eler hit 2 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice for the Targaryens. Royse City reliever Júlio Martínez picked up the win, bumping his record to 1-0. Shotaro Sugahara was collared with the loss. Royse City, at 6-2, is off to a blistering start.
The Targaryens got a big at-bat from designated hitter Gonzalo Álvarez. For the game, Álvarez went 3 for 5 with a double and 2 singles. He scored 3 runs and drove in 3. In the top of the fifth, with the bases loaded, he stroked a bases-clearing double. His 2nd double of the season gave Royse City a 6-3 lead.
"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Álvarez. "And not try to do too much."
