Thundercats Use Late-Game Magic to Beat Rainbow Mermaids
|
Starting pitcher Jesús Gonzáles pitched well enough to help the Richardson City Thundercats beat the Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids by the score of 8-4. The winning pitcher was Gonzáles, now 8-3. He tossed 7.1 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 1 and fanning 4. Richardson City has now won 3 straight, while the Rainbow Mermaids have lost 3 in a row.
Bruce Ingilby helped out the Richardson City cause in the top of the eighth inning with a 2-run single. For the game, the second baseman was 3-4 with a triple and 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.
"We put a lot of pressure on ourselves," Gonzáles told a Richardson City Gazette reporter. "Sometimes we need just to relax."
