Drummers Pull Off Thrilling Win in Extras
Tortolita starter Darius Baxa pitched effectively against the Vermont Lake Monsters at Drummers Ballpark. The right-hander led his team to a 4-3 win. Tortolita reliever Luis Cardona picked up the win, upping his record to 2-1. Joe Kehoe absorbed the loss. Tortolita is now 45-50, Vermont 49-46.

Late in the game, left fielder Francisco Ornelas had a big at-bat for Tortolita. In the bottom of the 14th, he hit a run-scoring triple off Joe Kehoe. The play gave the Drummers a 4-3 lead.

"We had the game right there for the taking," said Vermont manager Rick Nash. "But we decided not to take it."
