Halberds Throttle Doubledays, 5-0

The Alloway Halberds got a superb performance from pitcher Seb Alport, who shut out the Tremont Doubledays, 5-0. Alport, now 2-1, was the winner. In 6.1 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 2, walking 4, and allowing no earned runs. Alloway, at 47-45, sits in 4th place in the Silver AAA.
Juan Salinas's at-bat in the top of the first inning was a big one for Alloway. Coming to bat with two out, the bases loaded and Alloway leading 2-0, the right fielder hit a 2-run single.
Salinas told a Alloway Observer reporter that he was "more than satisfied" with the win.
