Longnecks Raise Rally Flag, Beat Athletic Club KC, 6-1
|
The Bloomington Longnecks topped the Athletic Club KC Reserves, 6-1, in USSL Triple A action at Lookouts Ballpark. The player of the game was Bloomington pitcher and Buena Park, California native Atila Freska. Nick Taylor, credited with the win, is now 6-0. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 4 innings. Bloomington improves to 55-31 with the win. They lead their division by 5½ games.
Bloomington took a 2-1 lead on Rob Gray's 3rd home run of the season. The solo home run came off Athletic Club KC pitcher António Hernández in the bottom of the eighth.
"I felt we were ready to go," said Bloomington manager Jorge Silva. "Our pregame was pretty good."
