The Alloway Halberds got a stellar performance from pitcher Seb Alport, who handcuffed the Port Royal offense en route to a 6-1 win at Ballpark of Alloway. Alport picked up the win for Alloway, going 5.2 innings. He gave up 1 run on 4 hits. He now sports a record of 1-0. Shi-lin Li, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 1st save.
Jordan Hollins, who is rated as the 89th best prospect by BNN, aided the Alloway cause with a run-scoring walk in the bottom of the fourth. For the game, the third baseman was 1-3 with a double and a walk.
"I thought we played a nice game," Hollins told the Alloway Observer. "Good pitching, timely hitting, it was all there."
Alloway is now 40-35.
