Tremont and Alloway got after it at Ballpark of Alloway.
Tremont third baseman Andrés Gonzáles was instrumental in his team's 7-5 win over the Alloway Halberds. Gonzáles, who is tied for 2nd in the SAAA in RBI with 48, went 2-2 with 1 run scored to lead the offensive attack for the Doubledays. Mathieu Neri got credit for the win, improving to 5-4. He allowed 3 runs on 4 hits in 6 innings. Alonso Martínez finished to wrap up his 5th save.
Sheldon Deshotels helped his team jump on top from the get-go. His first time up in the top of the first, he cranked a run-scoring double to give Tremont a 1-0 lead.
"Say want you want about this team, they play nine innings hard," said Tremont manager Lendon Tipton.
The Doubledays raised their record to 31-28.
