Matajudíos, Lake Monsters Get 8-1 Win
|
The Vermont Lake Monsters got a stellar performance from pitcher Javier Matajudíos, who handcuffed the Tortolita offense en route to a 8-1 win at Drummers Ballpark. Vermont occupies 6th place in the Silver AAA at 27-27.
Matajudíos, a native of Higüey, Dominican Republic, was dealing all game. He kept Tortolita hitters off-balance, while giving the Lake Monsters 9 quality innings. Matajudíos threw 98 pitches, allowing 2 hits and striking out 5.
"We were the better team today. Maybe that won't be the case next game, but we'll enjoy it for now," Matajudíos told the Vermont Herald.
