Middendorf Hits 2 home runs in Halberds Win
|
Behind a solid performance from shortstop Vito Middendorf, the Alloway Halberds defeated the Port Royal Disaster, 10-3. Middendorf belted 2 home runs, while scoring 3 times and driving in 3 for the Halberds. Ángel Rosas got the win, improving to 4-1. He pitched 6.2 innings, giving up 6 hits and 3 runs, while striking out 5 and walking 2. Alloway is now 23-17.
Jerry Yates helped his team jump on top from the get-go. His first time up in the top of the first, he cranked a 3-run home run to give Alloway a 3-0 lead.
"We'll relax tonight and get back after it tomorrow," Middendorf said after the game.
