Martínez Helps Longnecks Run Win Streak to 5
The Bloomington Longnecks defeated the Scranton Supernovas, 9-6, in USSL Triple A action at Nuclear Stadium, with Bloomington first baseman Martín Martínez named player of the game. Bloomington reliever Nick Taylor was credited with the win, to go to 2-0. Victor Brey took the loss for Scranton. The Supernovas, now 15-23, have lost 4 straight.

Had Benedict Patel not delivered a key base hit in the top of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 2nd, Patel hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 5-4, in favor of the Longnecks.

"Nice to put this one in the win column," said Martínez.
