The Vermont Lake Monsters went home winners at Monster Field, thanks in large part to starter Cherles Gachineiro. Gachineiro silenced the Tortolita Drummers, enabling Vermont to grab the 5-1 win. Santo Velazco earned the save for Vermont, his 4th. Vermont occupies 4th place in the Silver AAA at 19-16.

The Lake Monsters got a big at-bat from third baseman Adrián Palma. For the game, Palma went 1 for 3 with a double, while adding 3 RBI. In the bottom of the fourth, with runners on 2nd and 3rd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 2nd double of the season gave Vermont a 2-0 lead.

In postgame comments to the Vermont Herald, Gachineiro said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
