Halberds Win in Extras
The Alloway Halberds beat the Houston BC, 5-4, at Houston Park. The win was largely due to the efforts of designated hitter Ethan Stanford, who captured player of the game honors. He was 2 for 3 with 2 doubles and 4 walks, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Alloway currently is in third place in the Silver AAA at 19-13.

Stanford had a game-changing double in the top of the 14th. On a 0-2 fastball from Cal Haber, he banged a run-scoring double to right, giving the Halberds a 5-4 lead. It was the 5th double of the year for Stanford.

"We battled our tails off to get this win," said Alloway manager Santiago Vargas.
