Late Rally by Halberds Secures Win
The exploits of first baseman José Zarate, who is tied for 8th in the SAAA with a .341 batting average, helped the Alloway Halberds defeat the Vermont Lake Monsters, 4-2. Zarate was 2 for 3 with 2 singles and a walk, while adding 2 RBI. The winning streak has now reached 5 games for the Halberds.

The Halberds got a big at-bat from catcher Manny Gonzáles. For the game, Gonzáles went 1-4 with a double. He drove in 2 runs. In the bottom of the eighth, with the bases loaded, he stroked a 2-run double. His 3rd double of the season gave Alloway a 4-2 lead.
