Doubledays Get Win, Extend Streak to 4
|
José Magana added some punch to the Tremont offense, helping them outmuscle the Bloomington Longnecks, 8-7. In the game, Magana went 2-3 with 2 singles and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Tremont reliever Vinny Mariani was credited with the win, to go to 1-1. Vicente Escamilla took the loss for Bloomington. Alonso Martínez earned the save for Tremont, his 4th of the year.
Max Berman, who is tied for 8th in the SAAA in stolen bases with 7, aided the Tremont cause with a 2-run double in the bottom of the sixth. For the game, the designated hitter was 3-5 with a double and 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs.
"It wasn't our best performance," said Magana, "but a win in this league is nothing to sniff at."
The winning streak has now reached 4 games for Tremont.
