Damien Hayward of the Gryfindor Braves spun his magic on the Houston BC today. He blanked them 7-0 on 1 hit, registering 5 strikeouts and 5 walks.

"The bottom line was I just kept the ball down," Hayward said. "My breaking stuff was down. Everything was down."

Talking to reporters in the postgame interview, Gryfindor skipper António Macías said the team "got solid pitching, good defense and took great team at-bats in a lot of different situations."

"Damien pitched really well but this was a solid performance by everyone," he said.

So far this year Hayward has made 5 starts, tossed 35.1 innings, struck out 19 batters and walked 15. His record is 2-3 with a 5.09 ERA and he has limited opposing teams to a .261 batting average.
