A 4-RBI performance from Joe Aller, who is tied for 3rd in the SAAA with a 1.105 OPS, helped the Vermont Lake Monsters beat the Gryfindor Braves, 11-8. Vermont reliever Javier Matajudíos picked up the win to move to 2-0. Fred Gunther suffered the loss. Woody Hudson got the save, the 2nd for him this season.

Aller had a game-changing double in the top of the seventh. On a 2-2 fastball from Jerry Pellerin, he banged a run-scoring double to left, giving the Lake Monsters a 5-4 lead. It was the 12th double of the year for Aller.

"You know, at the end of the day, it's about who scores the most runs," said Vermont manager Rick Nash.

With the win, Vermont goes to 14-9, while the Braves fall to 7-16.
