Braves Use Late-Game Magic to Beat Disaster
|
The Gryfindor Braves racked up a win at Ballpark of Port Royal, bumping off the Port Royal Disaster, 4-3. Juan Contreras, who started for Gryfindor, pitched effectively for his team. Gryfindor reliever Suezo Amano picked up the win, upping his record to 2-0. Jackson Haines shouldered the loss. Tim Nesheim earned the save for Gryfindor, his 2nd of the year.
The most critical at-bat came in the top of the ninth inning. With two out, Brent van Schoonhoven hit a 1-1 slider from Jackson Haines for a 2-run single. It put Gryfindor in front, 4-2.
"I'll probably toss and turn tonight," Port Royal manager Bobby Robinson said following the tough loss.
Gryfindor, at 6-15, sits in 9th place in the Silver AAA.
