Victory Over Reserves Takes Vermont to 13-8
|
The Vermont Lake Monsters topped the Athletic Club KC Reserves, 5-0, in USSL Triple A action at Monster Field. The player of the game was Vermont pitcher Mike Brandner. Vermont reliever Mike Brandner was credited with the win, to go to 1-0. Jeremy G. Wentworth took the loss for Athletic Club KC. The Lake Monsters' win now puts them at 13-8.
Joe Aller, who leads the SAAA in doubles with 10, aided the Vermont cause with a run-scoring single in the bottom of the third. For the game, the center fielder was 1-2.
"We'll savor this win," Brandner told the Vermont Herald, "then get ready for the next game."
