The Port Royal Disaster beat the Alloway Halberds, 5-4, at Ballpark of Alloway. The Disaster got a fine performance from designated hitter Brandon Cooper, who captured player of the game honors. He went 2 for 4 with a home run and 2 walks, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. The Halberds, now 10-7, have been consistent this season. Consistently bad.

Cooper had a game-changing single in the top of the 13th. On a 1-2 splitter from Juan Carlos Herrera, he banged a run-scoring single to right, giving the Disaster a 5-4 lead. It was the 9th hit of the year for Cooper.

"I was able to barrel up some pitches," said Cooper.
