Rainbow Mermaids Come Up Short at Brooklyn
|
Brooklyn right fielder Jérôme Masson was instrumental in his team's 5-4 win over the Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids. Masson, who is tied for 3rd in the PL in RBI with 39, went 2-4 with 1 run scored to lead the offensive attack for the Dodgers. Víctor García picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 2-0. Javier Desdin was tagged with the loss. Sjaak Bonne earned the save for Brooklyn, his 18th of the year.
Masson had a big at-bat with runners on 2nd and 3rd in the bottom of the first inning, when he hit a 2-run single. The Dodgers went on to win.
"I like the grit of this ballclub," Masson said.
Brooklyn is now 29-22.
