Win Streak Now at 10 for Longnecks
The Bloomington Longnecks bested the Vermont Lake Monsters by a score of 6-4, with right fielder Benedict Patel getting the main credit. On the day, Patel went 2 for 3 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for the Longnecks. Bloomington reliever Anaías Pedroza picked up the win, upping his record to 3-0. Santiago López shouldered the loss. Losses have been few and far between for the Lake Monsters, who are now 8-3.

Patel contributed a big hit, a 2-run home run, for Bloomington in the bottom of the second. With his team trailing 1-0, Patel took a changeup from Santiago López and stroked the home run to right. His 2nd home run of the season allowed the Longnecks to leap in front, 2-1.

"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Patel. "And not try to do too much."
